Eagle FC Crowned Champions at United’s Second Annual Liberia Independence Day Soccer Tournament

Sunnycrest Park was alive with excitement on July 26, 2025, as United hosted its second annual Liberia Independence Day Soccer Tournament, bringing together players, families, and community members for a full day of competitive soccer.

The tournament featured four teams from across New York: Eagle FC, Upstate United U23, Torabora FC Utica, and Kilimanjaro Buffalo. Each team showcased skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event, making for an entertaining and high-energy tournament.

The final match delivered a thrilling showdown between Upstate United U23 and Eagle FC. In a closely contested battle, Eagle FC edged out Upstate United U23 with a 4–3 victory to claim the tournament championship.

Held at Sunnycrest Park, the event continued United’s mission of using soccer to unite communities while celebrating Independence Day through sport, culture, and friendly competition. The success of this year’s tournament further solidified the event as a growing tradition, with plans already in motion to make next year’s edition even bigger.
