Onondaga FC proudly announces the hiring of Ryan McGee as the club’s new Technical Director and First Team Head Coach, a significant step in advancing the club’s long-term vision for player development and competitive success.

McGee joins Onondaga FC with a wealth of experience from both the professional and collegiate levels, as well as a strong background in youth development. His appointment reinforces the club’s commitment to building a unified soccer identity—from the academy to the senior team—centered on consistency, development, and high performance.

Most recently, McGee has been making headlines as the head coach of the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats, where he led the program to an impressive 12–1 record and the #1 ranking in USCAA Division I in his first season at the helm. His impact was immediate, showcasing his ability to build winning cultures while developing players on and off the field.

Before transitioning fully into coaching, McGee enjoyed an extensive playing career across multiple countries. During the 2023–24 season, he competed professionally with Bay Olympic FC in Auckland, New Zealand, while also serving as head coach of the North Wellington FC U14 Academy team. Previously, he played semi-professionally with Albion Hurricanes FC in Houston, Texas, where he was deeply involved in the club’s youth academy. His international experience also includes time in Australia with the Olympia Warriors in the National Premier League, where he simultaneously coached the U16 squad.

At the collegiate level, McGee played for Marymount California University from 2017 to 2018, helping guide the program to an NAIA Final Four appearance. He also spent two seasons at Santa Barbara City College and began his college career at Dakota County Technical College, contributing to a top-10 NJCAA Division I finish. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, blending soccer knowledge with strong organizational and leadership skills.

As Technical Director, McGee will oversee the club’s overall soccer philosophy, ensuring alignment between the academy, development programs, and the first team. As First Team Head Coach, he will lead Onondaga FC on the field, implementing a modern, competitive style of play designed to prepare players for the next level.

“Ryan represents exactly what we want Onondaga FC to be about—development, professionalism, and a clear pathway for players,” the club said in a statement. “His global experience and proven leadership make him the right person to lead our technical vision and first team.”

Originally from Chanhassen, Minnesota, McGee now resides in Hopkins, MN. Outside of soccer, he enjoys hiking and camping and is a passionate supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves.

With Ryan McGee at the helm, Onondaga FC looks ahead with confidence as the club continues to grow, compete, and inspire the next generation—on and off the pitch.
